HUMILITY IN GOD´S KINGDOM by Anita Keith-Gillon

How would you describe a humble person? Is he poor person or someone who allows himself to be brow beaten?

Moses was the most humble man who ever lived1. Jesus Christ gave us the supreme example of humility2. Did he allow himself to be walked over? What did His humility depend on?

I believe that His humility depended on the position He took in His Father’s Kingdom. He placed Himself under His direction and always did His will3. This position was so important that if He had come out from under His Father’s direction He would have ended up doing His own will.

What has this to do with us? God wants us to place ourselves in the same position, submitting to His government, doing His will. However our problem is that we want to do our own will; we are proud and self sufficient, we know what to do and won’t submit to God’s will.

Humility is to place ourselves in the same position as Jesus Christ. The Father will show us how to act in each situation. We tend to feel the need to defend ourselves because we are afraid of being badly treated. This is deceiving. The truth is if I renounce trying to defend myself and truly believe that the only one who defends me is Jesus Christ, He will show me what to do. Perhaps He will give me the words to say or perhaps He will tell me to keep silent. It will be according to what He wants, not what my emotions dictate. This is humility in God’s Kingdom.

What is the result of Kingdom humility? I submit to God all I think, all I believe and all I want. I am convinced that my reasoning must be submitted to God’s reasoning. In this way I can accept what others think without imposing my ideas on theirs. If I submit to Christ, I can more easily come to an agreement.

My goal is to remain in the same position as Jesus Christ, under Father God’s direction in order to enjoy the solutions that He has for my situation, and to experience how He defends me in difficult moments.

God’s love is so strong that if we are proud He will humble us with the sole purpose of bringing us back to into alignment. If we are not in a humble position we cannot expect anything from God.

It was pride that removed Lucifer from God’s Kingdom; it was pride that took Adam and Eve into the kingdom of darkness and this pride has been impregnated in each one of us. This is the reason for God’s jealousy. Sin’s seed produces independence from God.

1Num.12:3 2Phil 2:7 3Jn 5:30

1 Peter 5:5-7

All of you, clothe yourselves with humility toward one another, because, “God opposes the proud but shows favor to the humble.”

Humble yourselves, therefore, under God’s mighty hand, that he may lift you up in due time. Cast all your anxiety on him because he cares for you.

If I humble myself under God’s mighty hand I find that I am in a place of protection and dependency on God. From that position of humility I can cast my anxiety on Him and experience His care for me. On the contrary, if I am proud, I am independent of God and cannot expect His protection or His care.
